Get-It-Done work sessions

How many times have you promised yourself you’d sort through your photos “this weekend”? We’ve all been there – endlessly scrolling through thousands of photos, hunting for that one picture from last Christmas while your finger practically goes numb from swiping. You know exactly what needs to be done, but every time you open your photo app or stare at the box holding a ton of old prints, slides and other memorabilia, it feels like staring at Mount Everest in flip-flops.

Here’s the thing – none of us got a “Photo Management 101” class at school, did we? We’re all just winging it while juggling work, family, and everything else life throws our way. No wonder photo organisation gets shoved to the bottom of our never-ending to-do lists! But once you build a bit of momentum with your photos (just like any habit), it actually becomes manageable – dare I say it, even enjoyable.

Picture this: opening your photo app and finding exactly what you want in seconds. Creating that photo book you’ve been talking about for years without wanting to throw your laptop out the window. Having your precious memories organised and backed up instead of living in digital chaos.

That’s where Get-It-Done Work Sessions come in. I’m not going to lecture you about photo management theory – we’re simply going to roll up our sleeves and get stuff done, together.

Here’s what happens when you join

N

Finally tackle that overwhelming photo collection

You’ll have dedicated, distraction-free time to make real progress on organising, editing and curating your photos or to get creative with those projects you’ve been putting off.

N

Get unstuck with expert guidance

I’ll be there to guide you through challenges and share strategies that actually work, while you also benefit from fellow participants’ experiences.

N

Stay motivated and accountable

The group setting keeps you focused and productive – and it’s way more fun! When you know others are working toward similar goals, you’re more likely to push through instead of getting overwhelmed and giving up (again).

N

Set and achieve clear goals

Each session starts with you deciding what you want to accomplish, giving you a clear target and helping you feel genuine progress by the end. Your goal can be anything photo-related that’s been nagging at you.

N

Pick up useful tips and tricks

You’ll likely discover new approaches, tools, or shortcuts that can make your future photo management so much easier.

N

Actually get things done

By the end of each session, you’ll have made real progress on tasks you’ve been avoiding – whether that’s creating a photo book, sorting through holiday snaps, backing up your photos, or finally deleting those 47 blurry shots of your lunch.

N

Connect with people who get it

You’ll work alongside others who understand the photo struggle and cheer each other on. You might even make a new friend!

The result?

You’ll walk away with that incredible feeling of finally crossing off tasks you’ve been avoiding for months (or years!). There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of seeing real progress on something that’s been weighing on your mind, plus you’ll have the confidence and momentum to keep going.

What could you tackle in a session?

Declutter your phone photos

Delete the duplicates, blurry shots, and random screenshots cluttering your camera roll

Create a digital album

Curate photos from your child’s sports season or that wedding you attended

Choose photos for a photo book

Finally select those holiday snaps or family photos you’ve been meaning to turn into a book

Back up your photos

Ensure your most precious memories are safely stored and accessible for when the worst happens

Brainstorm photo gift ideas

Plan what photos to use for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions

Remove photos from an old album

Save your old prints from the chemical sandwich and remove them from that old sticky album

Sort photos from your last trip

Sort through and rename photos from your last vacation or family gathering

Finish a scrapbook

Add those last few photos to your scrapbook and give it the finishing touches

The key is choosing something specific and achievable – you’ll be amazed what you can accomplish when you have dedicated time and supportive company!

How it works

Session length and frequency

Each session runs for 3 hours, but don’t stress – you don’t have to stay the whole time! Pop in for an hour or two if that works better with your schedule. Since I work with people across different time zones, I schedule sessions at various times and days so everyone gets a fair chance to join. No pressure to attend every single one – just stay on my newsletter list and you’ll know when new sessions are announced.

Cost

Each session is AU$27 – simple as that. No subscriptions, no package deals, no complicated pricing. Just pay for the sessions you attend.

Session structure

We’ll start with introductions and goal setting, then dive into our first 45-minute work block, check in with the group, then continue with the next work block etc. The microphones and cameras will be turned off during our work blocks and the sessions are not being recorded.

What you need (apart from photos)

Nothing fancy – just your computer or phone and a Zoom connection. That’s it!

Is this for you?

N

These sessions are perfect if ...

  • you’ve been putting off photo organisation for months (or years!) and need some accountability to actually get started.
  • you feel overwhelmed by your photo collection but know what needs doing – you just can’t seem to tackle it alone.
  • you have photo projects gathering digital dust – like that family album you planned to create or those vacation photos you meant to organise.
  • you work better alongside others and find that group energy helps you stay focused.
  • you want to make actual progress, not sit through more tutorials – you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

M

This probably isn't for you if ...

  • you’re looking for step-by-step software tutorials – we’re here to work, not learn new programs.
  • you want someone else to organise your photos for you – you’ll be doing the work (with guidance and support!).
  • you prefer working completely alone – these sessions are all about group energy and accountability.
  • you’re expecting a structured course with lessons and homework – we’re here to get stuff done.
  • you’re still in the “I’ll deal with my photos someday” mindset – no judgment, but these work best when you’re genuinely ready to dive in.

Got questions?

What if I'm a complete beginner - will I be able to keep up?
If you can use Zoom… yes, absolutely! There aren’t really beginners or advanced participants. You’ll be working with your own photos using tools you already know.

What photo management software do you recommend or teach?
Since this isn’t a course but a work session, I won’t be teaching specific programs. If you have questions, I’ll happily share tips and recommendations.

How many people are typically in each session?
Group sizes vary but there will be no more than 15 people so everyone gets a chance to share their goals and celebrate their wins.

Can I work on any type of photo project, or are there specific focuses?
You can work on anything photo-related. Whether you want to cull your camera roll, find your best holiday shots for a photo book, or tackle that box of old family photos – it’s totally up to you.

What happens if I can't finish my project in one session?
This happens all the time, especially with bigger projects! There’s absolutely no requirement to finish everything in one go. If you’re motivated, continue on your own. If not, just join the next session and pick up where you left off.

Do you offer any follow-up support after the session ends?
There won’t be Facebook groups or ongoing communities. Your options are booking a 1-on-1 session with me (separate cost) or simply joining future group sessions.

Are the sessions being recorded?
No – these aren’t classes, and I want to protect everyone’s privacy.

Meet your host: Chantal Imbach

I completely understand how overwhelming it feels to be drowning in photos. Maybe you’re daunted by the technology or worried about losing precious memories – I’ve been there too!

While I’ve worked as a professional photo manager for almost a decade, I’m just like you – I still struggle to stay on top of it all, and I see almost daily how many of us do.

That’s why I created these sessions. Let’s take action and make progress by keeping each other motivated, inspired, encouraged and accountable.

So we can finally enjoy and share those precious memories with our families, now and for generations to come.
